I haven't heard about this one directly...However there are more 'issues' than the general public is aware....It isn't uncommon to have adjusters threatened etc...The world is full of crazies.....Couple of years ago a nut of an insured was going beat me sensless (on the phone) among other things...reported it, my company wanted to send security to stick to me for a month (I declined) filed a report police report this guy had about six protection orders and multiple assault verdicts...so cops made a visit told him he'd better stay the heck away from me...and he was immediately canceled or non-renewed (I can't remember which)....This happens more than you think....and before anyone 'assumes' something.... it isn't a case of the mean old ins. giant denying a claim, etc....it's an unstable personality that can't deal with things not being EXACTLY like they want them to be.

chargers fan,
north carolina dept. investigator was reportedly doing an audit on an agency owner in charlotte area. when she didn't return home, family and friends became worried. they found her body on tuesday near s. carolina border. police reportedly have evidence to tie her and the agency owner in and he was picked up and is in jail, facing first degree murder charge. if you want to read more, plus an op-ed i wrote on it, it is at dailyinsurer.blogspot.com . i feel really bad for her family and i'm sure this was last thing they ever envisioned happening.
