In Georgia, can one get a real estate license for a felony

Time served awaiting for bail (this was in the 80's) which amounted to 10 days, then probation for a while. This occurres at a political party with the wrong people and everyone was taken to Jail. Since then , absolutely no trouble , no misdeameanors or anything. It was just a one time mistake. Lesson learned.

Hi Pink, since it was a long time back and no criminal record afterwards, IMO it mightn't hinder your getting license. The employers do conduct background check on the applicants, but the decision would vary with the companies. You need to get interviewed with couple of recruiters to know the outcome.

I guess you have a long employment history till date to show as experience. A good employment record might help in gaining the recruiter's confidence. :)

Hello Pink and welcome to ampminsure!

IMO the nature of the felony is an important determinant of your future. if its related to- stealing, fraud, rip-off or misappropriation of funds, you’re probably out-of-luck. In many states a felony would automatically bar you from obtaining license. And, I guess Georgia is one of them. But I’d suggest that you check with the licensing department’s guidelines before deciding

Thanks,
Rupert
