my husband recently found out he has a 12 year old son,he has added his son on his benefficiary to recieve 50% of his life insurane,and i am to recieve the other 50%.he is not realizing that out of my 50%,all of his depts has got to be paid.im worried that there may not be enough to do what i am responsable to do.can he legally do this without my consent.what are my rights as his spouse?i dont think it is fair for his son to have such a high percentage of our life insurance,we also have three other kids that are mine who is not getting anything,not fair...what can i do?

You don't describe the manner in which your husband's business is operated -- sole-proprietor, partnership, LLC, corporation, etc.
If a sole-proprietorship, the rights to the business pass to a spouse under most circumstances. That means you would also inherit the debts and other liabilities -- such as unpaid taxes and/or wages -- of the business as well.
There could be other business succession plans in place that could alter this. Have you not discussed this with your husband? This could be a situation in which a life insurance policy might be an appropriate and necessary planning tool.

I am married my husband keeps all the finances to himself, I don't know what we have, I don't know what will happen in future. He controls everything. When I try to find out anything he gets mad most of the time the car is on empty and I have to ask for gas money. I feel like I am drifting in a sea of doom. :?:
