SOMEONE RAN INTO MY CAR THEN LEFT BFORE I COULD GET OUTSIDE, NOW MY INSURANCE AGENT WANTS ME TO PAY A $500 DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE

That would be correct. Your policy basically states that your insurance will pay for the same to your vehicle... less our deductible. This would be true as well if you knew who hit your vehicle. The difference then would be that your carrier would seek recovery and if/when they recovered the amount of your loss, they would refund your deductible.

Yes, we at the forums are quite familiar with such hit-n-run accidents and Tcope has explained it quite correctly.
There are times when the victim himself or a couple of witnesses would help trace the at-fault party. But since you've no clue regarding the offender its up to you now.

If there's a question here I'm not seeing it. So I'll just free associate from what you've written.

You seem upset about having to pay a $500 deductible (or maybe you just don't know what hitting caps-lock a second time will do) But I'll assume you don't like the deductible.
Why don't you like it? Is the total damage less than $500? What if the damage totaled $10,000, then would paying $500 to get $9,500 in repairs done seem fair?
