We are seperated but have a 3 year old child together. He has already incurred 25K of medical bills and needs more treatments. He has been told the cancer is advanced. He has applied for medical assistance but has been turned down. I have no medical coverage and no money to pay for his bills. He has a life insurance policy. Would this policy be garnished for his medical bills?

Hi, it can't be garnished under the following conditions-
* If he has a named beneficiary
* If the named beneficiaries or the contingent beneficiaries are still living
* The beneficiary is not his estate
So, if you or the children are his beneficiaries then there's no way the policy could be garnished. Roddick
