I was in a car accident were a guy flagged me to go on and turn. I did then he pulled out infront of me causing us to wreck. The damages were minor beings we were only going about 3 miles per hour and turning. The guy had minor damages, a busted headlight and a small dent in bumper. Now months later the guys insurance is saying his car was a total loss. Impossible! The claim wasnt even filed to insurance untill October 2 and the accident occured in the first week of may. The guy continued to still drive vehicile. Can I be responsible for a total loss when it wasn't claimed and the police report says very minor damages

You could share the entire thing with your insurance carrier.

I think they should investigate and find out the truth.

Many of us would take pictures of an accident (however minor it seems), just to avoid these hassles in the future.

A vehicle that isn't worth hardly anything can total from a 500 repair bill. However, this claims does sound fishy...contact your carrier immediately, advise your adjuster you need to either see the vehicle or pictures of the damage...Very possible this other vehicle has had another accident since the one you were in with him/her, and now is trying to tag you with all the damage. Unfortunately, I see this a few times a year...Contact your carrier NOW
