I live in Pennsylvania and I recently was told by a doctor I need to have surgery on my knee which will require me to be off of work for 2-3 weeks and then would be restricted to light duty for another 2-3 weeks. Upon telling my employer of this I was immediately put on FMLA. I now have no job, no income. Can I collect short term disability? Unemployment?

Hi, I'm sure, you're aware that it's up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave. So, you're still an employee. Keep an eye on the notification requirements under FMLA. Your employer is obligated to it.
I don't think there's any problem with the short-term disability coverage, but I guess you won't be able to avail the unemployment benefits if you're still an employee. Roddick

I was just told I have an ACL tear and I need surgery but I just started working at my job as a CSA for an airline, I've only been there since Feb. before that I was out of work for about 3 months after having a job for about 19 months. Anyway I want to find out how to go about seeing if I qualify for short term disability, anyone know where I can find this info. out?

You may have coverage through your employer, or you may not have completed the probationary period and the insurance will not apply to you.
If you are in California, you may be eligible for a benefit from the State Disability Insurance (SDI) program after a minimum of 7 days' disability. If you are in another state, you will have to see if there is a similar program.
Many times, arthroscopic ACL surgery results in only a few days off work, and then you go back to some/all of your regular duties, perhaps wearing a knee brace of some kind until your knee has fully recovered.
