More that 1 auto, other driven less than 100 miles a year, sometimes not driven at all.

If you rarely drive it in terms of frequency, call your agent. Ask him to put Comprehensive, sometimes called Other Than Collision coverage on the car. If it's not too old, this shouldn't be a problem.
This will cover the car while in storage for things like theft, vandalism, glass breakage and other things. The premium is usually dirt cheap, most carriers will still let you maintain a multi-car discount and you have protection in case something happens to the car.
Just remember ONE THING :!: :!: :!: You Can't Drive The Car!!
You won't have the legal liability coverage required to drive the car when it's covered for just the storage coverage. MAKE SURE that you call your agent before you even THINK about driving it and ask him to put the liability coverage back on the car.
The above information only applies if you have no lien on the car and you hold the title.

Not sure what state you are in - Texas passed legislation several years back that allows you to purchase insurance by the mile. That might be an option for your second vehicle, however, touch base with the agent on your first vehicle, make sure you don't have any issues with conditions on the policy when carrying a second auto policy.

That is soooo weird- insurance by the mile. Never heard of that before...how are the premiums figured? Is there a "range" of miles allowed (so to speak) or are the premiums retroactive based on the actual miles driven?
Interesting...

To be quite frank, I haven't sold a policy that rated by the mile. I'm just aware that the legislation passed and there are companies offering it.
Here is a link to one of the companies that writes by the mile. The FAQ section is quite informative.
