I have an auto insurance policy which covers 8 cars. Two of the cars were parked on the street next to each other and were vandalized. Someone had done extensive damage to both autos. I filed "1" police report and made "1" phone call/claim with the insurance company. When the represenative returned my phone call they attempted two assign "2" claim #'s to this event and request that I pay "2" seperate deductibles. This is obviously just another way the insurance company is attempting to get more money from me. The cars were vandalized at the same time, which is only one occurance.

It doesn't matter that the incident occured at the same time. Your policy may in deed cover multiple cars, but each one will have a deductible. Read your policy. Are these vehicles for a business? More money from you? No, this is an agreement that you made with the insurer at the time the policy was written.

But you have not given me a justifyable reason to make this "1" event into "2" seperate claims. If a tree would have fallen on both cars at the same time....it would have been 1 event, 1 police report, 1 claim and 1 deductible.

A tree falling on your car is different from someone vandalizing it. I can't think of a reason why you would file a police report if a tree had fallen on your car? Unless of course, the tree had it out for you.
