My auto insurance is refusing to cover my loss. My car was vandalized and the engine, Intercooler, seats, harnesses, etc., were taken. I'm left with a shell. They say that they will call the car totaled and will pay the difference between the value of the car and the deductable, which is thousands less than the value of the car's engine, seats, etc. I have receipts for all of the parts that were in the car. What should I do? This was a car that could be used on the track, and had many modifications made to it. My agent was aware that I was making these modifications - he insures my car trailer and other cars also.

Auto insurance policies do NOT normally cover aftermarket parts of a performance nature unless specifically described and insured and only with the approval of the insurer.
As well, vehicles that are used for racing purposes are typically excluded in full from coverage.
What does your agent have to say about this automobile insurance settlement?
