we have been legally married for 16 yrs. he plans to divorce me. he has been living with a girlfriend for 1 1/2 yrs. we have 2 kids, he has taken me off as beneficiary to his life insurance. he has our kids and his mother on there with her getting 33% of everything. I am not listed at all because he plans to divorce me. do I have any recourse being that we were still married at the time he had this drawn up, and signed?

I doubt it, when you get an attorney for your divorce ask about that, you could always buy and pay for a policy on his yourself, making yourself beneficary, IF after you're divorced you still have an insureable interest.Posted: Thu Oct 15, 2009 11:59 am Post Subject:
Hi monajeffrey
Your husband has the right to change beneficiary and transfer that privilege to anybody he pleases. I don't think there is much that you can do. I haven't heard of any successful cases where someone fought to become beneficiary and won (legally).
