My insurance company is cancelling my policy with the VPIA because the construction and renovation has not been on an active basis. We have other rental property and have worked on this particular property for over two years, hich we are continuing to work on. I see nothing in the agreement where it has to be completed in any given time. Please inform me on the info that I need to write to them within 30 days.

I'm not sure what the "VPIA" is or what type of policy you have. This is not a case of coverage which the policy spells out, it's a case of underwriting by the insurance company. There is certain types of risk that a carrier does not want to insure. This is their right. You should be able to have your agent speak to the underwriter to determine what the reason is exactly and see if something can be worked out.
