The truck is in my name, the policy is in hers, but I'm am sure it has expired by now...I want to get this truck back to sell it but wanna find out my options to retrieving it

Go get it...if you have no insurance on this vehicle, you'd darn well better pick it up...regardless of whether or not you sell it...In most (if not all) states the owner can (and is) held as responsible as the driver ... Mommy in law rearends a school bus, injuring all fifty kids on board...guess who's going down the pike with her....you my friend, you...Have the title in hand and go get your vehicle.
