JUA or the joint underwriting associations in florida is a good alternative for an assigned risk pool. Special plans offered by the states could be categorized under JUA, ceded, residual, shared, involuntary markets or assigned risk etc.
Premiums for the auto insurance plans which are offered under JUA are normally more expensive. When compared with the voluntary market, the loss history of this category of drivers seem to be worse. So, if it's becoming increasingly tough for someone to get covered due to their driving track record, then they may choose to opt for JUA. Roddick
