Is there a way to request that Insurance company replace all carpeted areas as opposed to areas outside of doored areas. My carpet is the same throughout, if I get a different carpet it will not look the same, nor will it put me where I was before the incident. is there a way to request that they replace all the carpet to match. I live in Texas and I have USAA

USAA - I doubt it. You can always work your way up the chain of command and see what answer you get. They really don't owe you for carpet in rooms that are not open to where the damage is located.

Thanks. Usually in the past USAA was good about replacing the carpet, but I guess times have changed.
When I said, doored areas I didn't mean totallyout of the site of the damage areas. I live in a Ranch style house and all the flooring runs together. You still think they won't oblige?

I used to do some work for USAA and if there was a door that could close between the two rooms then they would usually cut it off at that point. Now I say usually, since sometimes they went above and beyond what was required according to the policy. This seemed to depend on the member and or their "status" (this was my opinion and was never confirmed).

Thanks for the advice. At least I won't be to upset should they tell me No!

The insurer will meet their legal obligation to you and no more, especially if you try and force them to do something they don't wan to.
If you want to re-carpet your house, I'd suggest asking your insurer to give you cash in the amount they would ahve had to pay to replace the carpet in settlement of the claim. You can then use this money as part of the cost to re-carpet the rest of the home.
Compromise may get you further than threats or tryingto foce the situation. as the saying goes "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar"

This happens sometimes, but it has been my experience that those who yell like heck get more satisfaction. Not from the adjuster, but from their boss who wants it to go away.
