Car-Insurance of Girlfrield - am I allowed to drive?

Hello,

my girlfriend and I plan a trip to Flordia, driving down the coast with her car. She has a car insurance of Nationwide.
Am I covered by her insurance if I drive her car?

I heard that it could be the case that damage on other cars etc is covered, but not medical cost for myself. Is that true?

Are there insurances (paying for medical cost on both sides, accidents, car damage on both sides and so on) which I can sign up for only for a short duration (2 weeks or so)?

Thanks!

You'd be covered for liability (losses to other people) but the policy limits might be lowered to the state minimum, depending on what state the accident occurred in.

Getting medical coverage from the vehicle your in also depends on the state laws where the accident occurred. If some type of PIP or Med pay applied in that state, where you get that coverage also depends on the state where the accident occurred. Many/most states either give you Med Pay/PIP from the vehicle you are in or your own vehicle.

Your chances of having an accident will decrese exponentially, the more you keep your eyes on the road and off the girl friend. Other than that you may want to inquire about an additional named insured on the policy. She can always go back and change it if you split up in Florida and you come back on the bus.

Thanks,

I guess Florida has the no-fault insurance statute. I believe, in that case he'd be eligible for the PIP benefits under his girlfriend's insurance. Am I right?

we both live in Georgia and the car is insured here. Does it matter where accidents happen or where the car is insured?
