I had a fender bender today with little damage to my car as going slow and left hedlight side bumper hit right side trunk of old 1988 Chevrolet Cavilier . Don't want to file with insurance so have asked other individual to check for repair cost and she indicates $1495....the Blue Book for newer 1989 Chev Cavilier is $1350 and that's excellent condition and private sale excellent condition $795. If I did file with my insurance company would they pay more than car worth for little bender? Individual now claims the impact (I think I was going about 15/20 mi max) has forced her back seat doors to lock so that can't unlock.....help...need information...prefer not to report to insurance company with $500 deductible...
made the mistake of not feeling the need to call for police report........

Absolutely not! They'll pay to repair it, or total it which ever is less...Individual now claims the impact (I think I was going about 15/20 mi max) has forced her back seat doors to lock so that can't unlock
Yeah well I hear that kind of 'crap' every week...don't worry about it...help...need information...prefer not to report to insurance company with $500 deductible...
You have no deductible for the property damage/liability portion of your policy..deductible applies to first party coverages, (ie collision and comp) in other words, only to fix your car, not anothers..made the mistake of not feeling the need to call for police report........
Police report would've only got you a ticket...IMO you'd better file this with your carrier, as this person could just as likely come up with a 'horrific' injury too.. :roll:Posted: Wed Dec 02, 2009 02:13 am Post Subject:
