I used to have an alaska dl and it eventually expired. i got a texas one at that time. i didn't update with progressive. since then i received a dwi on my texas license. they do not require sr22. it has been 2 years since then. when my policy renews it always shows clean and listed as ak still. i am 2nd on this policy also meaning that i share this with my sister. 2 cars each insured on eachothers car. i have been getting calls from progressive to update license info. what should i do? or which is the cheaper solution. aparantly progressive go back 3 years. but also can surcharge for not being able to obtain driving history. i blew .08 if that matters. please help. thanks in advance.

No. I am not speculating that they have or would. In generalities of things as Teacher pointed out, honesty in this situation would be the best policy to avoid any problems with a carrier.

It WOULD be better in the long run,..I DO agree with that. I suppose it's up to the Insurance carrier what they would do.

I also agree. I am curious as to how much a surcharge for not being able to pull my record would be and if it would be cheaper to pay that or pay a dwi surcharge. Also progressive go back 3 years is what I was informed by an agent which puts me pretty close to that time. This is a great forum. Plenty of good advice here.

I thought Insurance Co's go back farther than that. ..I don't really know....I'm just guessing. If anyone knows, are the 'guidelines', for Insurance Co's different in each state? (May sound like an iggnorant question..I just don't know).
