Hi,
I am selling my car but my auto insurance policy has just been renewed. Can the insurance company (in my case Nationwide) apply a cancellation fee? I reside in North Carolina.
I believe that I am entitled to a refund but certain conditions need to be met which I do not know. My policy does not state any cancellation fee explicitly.
I will appreciate any information on this matter.
Thanks for your help!
Dave

This would be a state dependent issue. In my state, 'no' there isn't, or atleast I've never seen one...you can check your states dept of ins website, there should be info there regarding this if allowed.
Have you canceled it and they told you there is a fee?

Thanks Lori for your response!
I have not as yet canceled it since I am in the process of finalizing the sale. However, I wanted to know beforehand if such a thing applies.
Thanks,
Dave
