I was driving down a ice and snow covered road going around a corner and lost control and side swiped a 18 wheeler parked to close to the road on privet property in Arkansas. No one was injured. Thank god! But I just found out that my insurance lapsed but my insurance card shows I'm covered un-tell May 27th of 2010 what charges and penalty might I be facing? I have never been in a accident before! please help!!!!

I think that's basically like being an uninsured motorist. At least you're okay!

Unfortunately, its your responsibility to be sure it gets paid

Insurance companies just don't stop collecting premiums. They also just don't cancel a policy for non-payment. They are required to send out notices before it cancels, which I'm betting they did.
As you were uninsured, someone will probably ask for you to personally pay for the loss.
