I have started a new business and can not afford insurance. I recently catered an event in which we also served mimosas. The client loved it and one of the guests asked us to do theirs. Perfect but now the building where they are hosting the event mentioned something about insurance. What do we do?
I have an NYC Food Handlers Certificate from the Department of Health, NY Sales Tax # and DBA. Can I get by until my business is more profitable without insurance.

Catering business insurance is quite affordable. Did you consult any agent regarding this?
I think you should. What would you do under circumstances when a lawsuit gets filed against you for negligence. See, it would then be truly difficult for you to settle things out of pocket.
