Would I be eligable for the accidential death benefit?

My mom recently passed in October and the corner determined her death an accidental overdose. However these meds were prescribed to her by her doctor due to a broken arm. She was awaiting surgery date from the local hospital and her dr. had given her some serious meds for pain. It was not proven that she took more than the doctor had prescribed. Would I be entitled to the accidental death benefit? I feel like this would be the dr. fault as my mom did NOT intend to kill herself. I have been reading the fine print in my policy but the life insurance company hasn't given me a straight answer to this and said it could take a while for it to pay.
