I had to use my in laws car to pick up their medicine. On the freeway, I was rear ended and I am not on their policy I do have a license but I do not have insurance on myself cause I do not own a vehicle. Will the vehicle be covered for the damages incurred?

If you don't live with them, most likely. If the other person is at fault then you don't really need to worry about covering yourself (unless you are in a PIP/Med pay state) as either your in laws collision coverage or the other person's liability coverage should address the damage to the vehicle you were in.
