Backdating a life insurance policy is quite common and I don't see any problem with that if the terms are acceptable to both the carrier and the policy owner. There shouldn't be any problem if the owner files a legal claim. But, over here I'd really wanna have more light into it!

Backdating is common and permissible under the state laws. They often limit to six months to which policies can be backdated. And if the terms are acceptable to both the policy owner and the company, there could be no legal issues.

I don't understand why there would be a claim under consumer protection act for backdating.
