I am trying to find out if my father had life insurance. I don't no where to begin and would appreciate any help.

At a T-intersection that I take everyday, sometimes even 3-4 times a day, there is a stop sign. One unfortunate day, around 7pm ( it was already dark by then, I stopped at the stop sign and after making sure that the traffic on both sides was far away enough for me to take the left turn, I decided to take the left turn like I always do everyday. The next I know is I woke up in ambulance to the Er and later came to know that I was t-boned, lost consciousness, broke my pelvis and suffered huge financial losses due to loss of work.
As, I lost consciousness and do not remember anything, the girl who hit me on the driver's side says that she was driving only within the speed limit and that I pulled out in front of her all of a sudden without even stopping at the stop sign.
The police who arrived at the scene, did not do any investigation to see at what speed she was driving.
They issued me a failure to yield ticket as she had right of way. My questions is, if that girl had the time and distance to notice that I did not even stop sign (which is a total lie) why did she not slow down? How come the police never did any investigation to verify if she was really driving within the speed limit?
Is there a chance for me to appeal in the court?

Maybe she didn't see you?

How come the police never did any investigation to verify if she was really driving within the speed limit?

Unless she left skid marks on the roadway, it would be next to impossible to determine her speed.

Is there a chance for me to appeal in the court?

That is your right
