My car was broken into and keyed and when i found this i called the cops and filed a report. The cop told me to contact my insurance company and file a claim so i did. I filed a claim and took my car to have it painted while the car was at the shop being fixed the finance company contacted me and demanded i trun the car over to them so i did before it could be fixed. Two weeks after the finance company took the car and after they tried to auction it off they contacted me and said they wanted the the remainder of the insurance check that i recieved to paint the car. How can they do that when they demanded i return the car and i was trying to have it painted?

Sounds to me like there may be more to the story. Your finance company has no reason to come and get your unless your not making the payments.
