I was left as the sole beneficiary of my mom's life insurance when she passed in 89 - my father came up with a sob story and got the court to give him the money for "utilities/living" to be paid back to me promptly when I turned 18. I'm now 25 and he still hasn't made an effort to pay it back to me - he even says my family is feeding me lies about the whole situation, which I know to not be the case what so ever. He's known for his lies as a matter of fact. I've talked to the company it was believed to be with and with her prior work (who remember her/me) and they've helped me as much as I can. The insurance company says they don't have records from back then. Any advice? I really want this money for college, as that's what she wanted with it as well. I'm looking to walk in her footsteps as a nurse eventually here, starting with Radiology.

I'd take him back to court..if you have a court order (as you say) that says he has to pay you back by a certain time, then he's in contempt...

You need to take some legal steps here. If you have the court order which says that he has to pay you back, you surely have a chance of getting your dues.

OP, do you have documentation stating your father will pay you back (if you stated that you did, I might have missed it)? It's really sad how people come out of the 'woodwork' when there is money involved.
