The preamble in an insurance policy is the declaration. It is an agreement between the insurance company and the insurer of the policy. It specifies the name of the insurer, the insured, the address of the insurer, address of the insured, the risk and property covered, the term of the policy, any deductible that is applicable and the amount of the premium.
