Can a company I worked for have a new agent go into a home of one of last client and have them cancel and re-write the policy so the new agent can make money and the old agent has a charge back a year later?

Nothing personal, but that approach is one of the slimiest I have seen in a while and verges on illegal. Easily considered, in most of the cases you will see, an "unsuitable replacement" and you're going to get your ***** caught in a vice.
The manager who suggested it should have his **** placed in that same vise.
Can you say "Errors and Omissions Lawsuit?" :D
