My son was hit by another car and his car wrecked. it is driveable but the acv value is lower than the cost to fix. The insurance company says it is a total but I can buy back less the salvage fee and than get it retitled with the state. Can I take a lower amount of money to fix and than avoid the hassle of retitling it and going to state patrol office for inspectiion. I do not want a salvaged title when it is just a dent to be refixed

You can take a lower amount to fix the dent by setting up the repairs to be done in NON-OEM or USED parts. that could bring down your repair bill up to 45%. Before that you need to find out how much your claim adjuster is offering you and try to get your car fixed within that.
