It is the insurance company who is responsible for this problem and they are liable to pay off the expenses. It seems that the company is indecisive here. You must investigate here and find out whether or not your vehicle is fairly totaled. Your company would make an initial offer or might just give you some options before making a final settlement. There is no need to accept the initial offer. Just investigate and find out the fair market value of your car. You might just need to fight to convince the insurance company. Hire an independent appraiser if you need to negotiate with the company.

Hi pinky2

If your insurer has totaled your car, they are supposed to pay you the ACV minus the deductibles. What they do with the car is then not your lookout. You are entitled to the money you deserve and any repair work on the car would be their responsibility.
