Had 3 separate freeway car incidences in 6 month period,My bf was going to receive million dollar settlement after his terminally ill wife passed, but insurance didn't pay out due to fiding out she had smoked briefly . Then attorney would not take wrongful death suit case.My BF was heavy into drugs, had lot's of girlfriends and thought he was going to be rich, i think when insurance didn't pay based on all my car incidences and relationship that continually grew more and more abusive that he may have a policy with my name on it. How do i find this out? I have left, but am still afraid of this man.

Insurance company didn't pay because she smoked briefly? No, that's not the way it works. They will adjust payment to fit premiums paid for the death benefity that would have bought. Or at least return the premiums with interest to the beneficiary.

Most of the time it's not possible for him to purchase life insurance no your life without your consent. There was an argument about this a while back in the life insurance forum where someone found a company that evidently would place a policy without the insured's consent--very rare.

If you think somebody has fraudulently placed an insurance policy on you, you can get in touch with the Medical Information Bureau by going to www.mib.com. They have a department for fraud investigation. If you do have a life insurance policy, it means you have signed an application giving your consent. Also most insurance companies notify the person in action.
