If you have a 1993 car and the motor goes out and you replace it with a 1995 motor is the value of your car increased or decreased? :)

Depends on the mileage on the engine and if the engine is different in anyway. Just the year does not matter as an engine is subject to wear based on just it's age.

Depreciation in a car depends on several factors like brand, value and condition of the car. It is also important what parts you use for repairing your car. Using aftermarket parts would speed up depreciation and hurt your car's resale value considerably.

I have never seen an AM part cause a vehicle to depreciate any quicker than if it had all OEM parts. As Lori stated, please explain this.
