I live in Texas. My wife has a chronic disease. I was laid off from my job in November of 2008. I carry a policy from BCBS on myself and my kids. I am now self employed but make way less than half of what I was making. My wife bought a business before I was laid off and no longer has insurance. We need help but don't know where to find affordable insurance for her. Where do we turn?

You can opt for Medicare Health care program. It provides necessary coverage for people with chronic diseases. The new Medicare Chronic Care Improvement plan emphasis the treatment of Medicare beneficiaries who live longer with chronic illness, particularly with multiple chronic diseases.

How many people does your wife have employed at the business she bought? Group insurance could be an option if there are employees.
