This terminiology was the reason for a small charge I had to pay other than my regular quarterly bill on my house insurance. I didn't ask for any change in the terms of my policy.

Hi joangruen
I am not sure what this term means, but surely there will be other members to help you out on this. However, why don't you ask your insurance company about the change they have referred to here? Why don't you write to them and ask for an explanation? I guess this should clear a lot of things.

The insurance company had initially charged you higher premium as they felt that you were a greater risk to them than you had actually proved to be. So now they have credited the excess amount in your account and in return of their service, have charged you a small amount.

Quite often we do come across inexplicable insurance terms. Still, I'd suggest you to share the new clause with us if possible. It might help us figure out the real problem and assist you in the right direction.
