the comoany i work for is cutting us down to part time so they dont have to offer us medical insurance. the dead line for te comoany to pay cobra is feb 28. If i quit before then will they have to pay?

I do not think that the employer would be responsible if you choose to quit your job. However, if you involuntarily lose your job and still want to continue your coverage under COBRA, you can ask your former employer about the subsidy. This would reduce your expenses by 65%, and the subsidized amount would not be treated as taxable income.

If you quit you will only be eligible for COBRA, just the same as if you stayed there. In either case, you would be responsible to pay for the insurance. So quiting won't change anything.
