Any advice?

I have an accident claim where the insurance carrier of the person at fault agreed to give me the policy limit of $100k without mediation. My questions is, this money is going to pay back the $55k in medical bills I have from personal injury and after my lawyers fee's barely gives me any money for my pain & suffering, and lost wages. I'm also still undergoing treatment for injuries and may be a life long injury. When filing a UI claim on my policy do I really need my lawyer for this? I ask because I'm trying to get as much of the money to myself because I don't know how this is going to impact me in the future and my income and would really like to get the UI policy without paying the lawyer their big cut.

No you do not need a lawyer to handle this.

No, you do not need a lawyer to settle your claims. You just need to convince the insurance appraiser for the settlement amount. Do some research and submit proper documents. If you think that the insurance company is offering you much lower than what you should get, you can negotiate with the insurance provider.
