Jaclyn,
Sorry for you loss. Try checking in all the obvious places, ie wherever he filed things, safety deposit box, fire box at home, his check book registers, if he had auto/home owners call that agent to see if he has a life policy. If he was employed, or retired, call the HR dept where he worked. Ask close those close to him, including buddys.

We have cleaned everything from the house. My dad was homebound and disabled. My Mom took care of him and everything else, but she passed suddenly 2 months prior. He had a different insurance carrier than she did. We know he had insurance, but can't figure out with who. We check with his medicare policy and they show nothing.

Did you check with Mom's agent?

I think I would also contact the bank to see if there were any checks written to an insurance company over the last 6 months for Personal auto. The company that holds the mortgage would know who the insurance company was as they would have to have proof of homeowners insurance. My condolences on your fathers passing, hope this helps

do life insurance companies share information similar to auto companies? ie, choicepoint pulls auto claims history and how long insured with a company.
curious if they might have access to life information. usually companies check health history prior to writinga life insurance policy, seems there would be a database as to what company inquired of his medical records.

Checking his account statements might help. Have you been able to get those?
