Only other way is to ask your carrier if they make the draft payable to you and the shop that will repair your vehicle..your finance company is NOT going to sign off of this without proof of repair...sorry

insurance companies are required to protect the lienholder, they can be held responsible if the settle with you and not protect them. usually the check is made to the bodyhop and you or the finance company and you.
i once had a minor bumper damage claim ...about $200, since it was so small, I just paid the claim to the insrd. the repairs we never completed, and the car was later repossessed. the lien holder sent us a bill to pay it again...we had to. thankfully it was only $200 or I might have been out of a job! lesson learned!
