Can I get health isurance with Low HDL's

Hi, I am trying to get an individual health plan but a Doctor friend of mine said it is not likely with a 37 HDL count. I have been waiting for weeks now with no reply from the Medwise Partners underwriters. Of course I do not want to arouse suspicion. Please help. I am self employed (not indigent) and need septoplasty or more. I may seek insurance in japan via spouse visa. Thanx
