Car accident driving someone elses car

Hello everyone. I'm new here and I have an auto insurance question. I live in Missouri.

In January I was driving my boyfriend's car. I slid off the road in the snow, ran off into the ditch and over turned the car. It was totaled. No passengers in the vehicle and no other vehicle was involved. I did not receive any citations for the accident, but I did end up going to the hospital to get checked out because I was having visual disturbances after the accident. I did not report the accident to my insurance company (and now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I was supposed to or not). He reported it to his obviously.

I have a few questions. Will this accident make his insurance rate go up? Will it make mine go up?

I now have part of a medical bill to pay (I only have major medical health insurance and his auto policy did not have medical coverage). Can I submit the bill to my auto insurance to pay (I have medical coverage on my policy) even though I did not report the accident to my insurance company?

If you file claim, may be

You would have to file a claim. However, this wasn't your vehicle. His insurance policy would most likely cover you in this situation.

You said that his policy would most likely cover me? Even though he didn't have medical payments on his policy?

He would have liability coverage which would cover bodily injury.

Generally, the liability coverage pays for Bodily injury that the insured vehicle causes to someone else, not the ocupant of that vehile, thats what Med Pay is for. Its generally cheap and should be purchased on a policy. I knew an old time Ins agent who said "selling and auto policy without med pay is like selling a car without a spare tire".
