It is statistically proven that a person who is prone to receiving driving citations is more likely to have an accident than one that doesn’t. However, if your rates go up and by how much - can differ from company to company. Typically though, your rate will not be affected until your policy renews.

Not sure about Texas Shane, but in MO (and I thought all states, but can't swear to it  ) you can not receive a rate increase until renewal.

How much depends on your insurance company and IF they find out that you had a speeding ticklet. Because of the expense most companies do not rerun your MVR at every renewal. If you were to switch companies or had an accident then you could expect to pay a little more 5-10% for having a speeder.

but in MO

That's actually incorrect. If your policy is reviewed, they can increase the rate at anytime. My policy won't renew for another few months and I got a rate increase from a ticket I recieved this January.

Thanks everyone! I guess the only way to find out for sure is to ask my agent.
