They just found an active sinkhole on my property. The insurance, due to these new laws will probably look to repair the hole and the cosmetic damages. I've been reading that many times unless the more expensive piers are put in place the grouting method is not very effective over time. The insurance company is not renewing policies and will be leaving florida so of course I no longer will have 'their' insurance. What and who is responsible for the damages that didn't repair what was broken?

If the peril is covered in the policy (direct damage) from the sink hole and was renewed as such, and the time frame in which the damage occured during the active policy-the insurance company os obligated to cover the cost. What exactly wasn't repaired and why was is it not paid for?

im in the negotiation part w/ the insurance company, they are leaving the state. If they pay for the repairs and afterward once the repairs are done and the grouting under doesn't hold who is then responsible. There is never a 100 percent guarantee w/sinkholes. I'd rather have them buy me out then try to grout under ad chance a recurrence and have nothing.
