Do I need to add to my auto because of my medical.

I am sure this has been answered before, but my company now has new insurance and is telling us we now have to have our car insurace primary for health insurance in case we are in an auto accident. My bill for Auto is going to go up $350 based on this? Does this seem correct? I am in Michigan.
