is it considered fraud if you receive money from your homeow

is it fraud to receive a homeowners claim check , not spend it all on the repairs..do some repairs for less or fix yourself..and have funds left over...we were trying to use the extra funds to put back into the home by replacing some damaged flooring from the Hurricane...thanks
