How can I find out if my husband has taken out a life insurance policy on me?
I believe he may have had his girlfriend help him get the policy.

You can try using the Medical Information Bureau's Lost Policy Service. The fee is $75.

If you believe something fraudulent has occurred, before you pay the fee for the policy search, request a copy of your MIB file -- there is no charge, once a year. It could reveal an insurance company that performed underwriting on "you". 866-692-6901 or visit them at

If you discover an insurer may have done something with "you" that was unauthorized, you can then contact them directly to inquire.

You may come across life insurance information if you'd go through his finance files or ask his colleagues and friends. You may also go through his phone book (if any) to see if it bears the names of insurance agents.
