Please help me. I had an apt fire 22 months ago. I had a renters policy. The fire occurred when I was out of the country. i returned to find its results. ONly my apt affected. The cause was found to be a faulty installation by the super of the building. The buildling ultimately wld not allow my carrier's engineer to open the wall and to determine the exact wiring problem. This report states the claim has paid 90,000$ for the fire in living expenses, to repair apt, etc. the building received monies from its carrier, My carrier is apparently still attempting to collect from the building, but saying they paid that amt, 90 grand out on my behalf. The CLUE reporet does not indicate the cause or blame of the fire. The home I am seeking to insure will not write a policy for me based on this report. The other quote i received is a lousy coverage concept and 3 x the price. What can be done, and who can amend the report to accurately portray both the monies spent on my behalf as well as the cause of fire so I am not penalized for being a blameless victim?
