Me and my wife was hit from behind while at a stop light on dec 10,2009. Our SUV was a total lost by liberty mutual survey group. We both have been to the chiropractor that our attorney advised and we gave all the information that was needed to our representative(attorney). It has been over 50 days since the paperwork was given to liberty mutual. they have all of our medical bills to show how much damage this woman has done. it seems that they are dragging their feet. ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP?

maybe that is the reason they are dragging their feet. If your attorney advised you to go to a particular chiropracter, that could raise a red flag to your adjuster that perhaps you're not really injured....

What Lori is saying is that we fail to understand why people are willing to pay an attorney 33% of their money and never speak to them about their case. If you were paying someone $10,000 to replace your roof wouldn't you expect them to do their job? Same thing here... you are paying an attorney to address your loss. If you have any questions, ask the attorney.No one here can know the status of your demand with the other carrier. If your attorney sent it over 50 days ago then your attorney should be finding out the status. Could be that they are going back and forth with information. Could be that they asked for additional time to review the loss information. Could be that they asked for additional documentation. The list goes on.

And it could include an attorney who is utterly worthless.
If you are not getting answers from your attorney, you should make just one more call to him (or more likely his voicemail) and let him know that if you don't get an answer within one business day, you are going to find another attorney and are also going to file a formal written complaint with the State Bar.
It will either get his attention, or you will have the answer you really need -- that it's time to get a new attorney. If you don't get the call, or you get the call and the answer is more BS, take a walk to another attorney and don't wait more than a minute to file the complaint against the first jerk.
Fortunately for most of us insurance agents, attorneys are actually lower on the scale of public confidence than we are. Might even beat the used car salesmen to the bottom of the list, too.

Our attorney said that liberty mutual said that they will be getting back with him two fridays ago? He stated that this is normal and that it can take awhile.

See this is a PERFECT example and so classic...The attorney says that the adjuster said they would have a response two (or three) weeks ago....BUT the atty you are paying, has not acted on this...period...why? If someone tells me they are going to call me or have an answer for me by 'x' date, I will give them 24-48hours past this, then I call them, and ask 'what's up? you said you'd call me two days ago?" And I'm not getting 33.3% of ANYTHING...Doesn't this just flat tick you off? :x Man, it would me...He stated that this is normal and that it can take awhile.
Agreed, it can take awhile..Disagree, that if he was told by the adjuster (not just making that date up to pacify you), then WHY wouldn't he have called them back when the adjuster missed their OWN expectation? This EXACTLY is what irritates me/us about atty's that take on BI claims.If it were me, I'd call the atty and say, 'hey, YOU told me that the adjuster said they would contact you two/three weeks ago...Did you follow up with them to find out why they have not done so?"
My money is on the adjuster DID call him back and/or sent a counter offer, and it's (the message/letter) on his desk buried under more important cases...and here's the catch...you are barred (by the contract you signed with the atty) from calling the adjuster yourself..so you're at this atty's mercy..and are forced to take his word for it... :roll:
