I have been waiting since the end of may to rec'v a check from Explorer Insurance. Then, I was told that the check came but didn't have the apartment number on it...so it was mailed back and sent to me again 6/4. It is now 6/11 and again no check. They keep saying it will come tomorrow. Are they using a stall tactic?

No, they have no reason to stall..they want your claim (and you no offense  ) off of their books too...If they sent it once and it was returned, then why would think they were stalling? If they mailed it on the 4th it likely didn't go anywhere unti the 7th, so I'd say if you don't get it by tomorrow call them back monday.
What is this check for? Where are they mailing it from and to where?

yes they are stalling.. my car was in an accident in aug. of 2010.. after we got the car back from the body shop the cadaledic converter and resinator went bad due to the impact of the accident. i have had to go thru hell for 2 months to get anything solved. it took them a month, before i had to call them just to find out if they were even going to take care of it.. they never call me.. after that they told me to take it to the shop to have the adjuster look at it. it took 2 weeks for them to get him down there.. so they made me wait 2 weeks just to tell me they were only going to pay 25% as the life of the muffler was almost done. i had to go thru loops to get them to pay for it.. long story, my car has been in the shop for over a month for somthing that takes about 2 or 3 hours to fix. the adjustor has been down at the shop twice cause they tryed to fix only the converter, when the resinator was bad too, which stalled me from getting my car back for another week. every time i call the adjuster he NEVER picks up the phone..always voice mail.I WILL TELL EVERYONE I CAN.. THIS COMPANY SUCKS!!! I AM SO PISSED..THEY HIT EVERY BRANCH ON THE STUPID TREE WHEN THEY OPENED THIS COMPANY UP...

As the OP posted in June 2010, it appears you are not the OP. As such, see my sig. Also, you responded to a reply that was 6 months ago as if you were the OP.Regarding them not returning calls, doing anything and you not being able to get the adjuster on the phone.... call and leave a message. If the adjuster does not call w/in 24 hours, call back and speak to a supervisor. If you don't speak to the supervisor in 24 hours, move up the chain until you do speak to someone. In the meantime, file a complaint with your Dept of Insurance. Those complaints are almost always kicked _way_ up the ladder in the insurance company. Usually if part of the complain is that Mr xxxx and Ms xxxx never called me back, heads roll.
Using this method I see no reason why this situation could not have been solved in a week or two.
