Would Alabama State Farm auto comprehensive coverage pay for damage to car. Blew head gasket and melted engine wiring harness and shorted alternator as well as other electrical components in engine compartment. Car did not catch fire but had enough steam and heat. Ford Motor Company has discontinued item and cannot located replacement harness from salvage dealers in South East. Most are cut when salvage yards disassemble vehicles.

Cause of loss is mechanical failure which is not covered. Fire is a named peril under comprehensive coverage but you say there was no fire. So no resulting fire damage. With what you mentioned, it's not covered.
